Terms of Service

Last updated: August 5, 2026 · Applies to the Bloom Journal app for iOS and Android, and to this website.

Plain language, and short where it can be. Using Bloom Journal means agreeing to what follows — so it is written to be read, not to be skipped.

Who these terms are with

Bloom Journal (“Bloom”, “the app”) is provided by Holistic Humble Bee, based in Romania (“we”, “us”). By downloading, opening or using the app you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the app — and if you have already written entries, the ZIP export in Settings → Export & Print lets you take them with you on the way out.

Our Privacy Policy forms part of these terms. You must be old enough to enter a contract where you live, and at least 13 — or older, where local law sets a higher age of digital consent.

What Bloom Journal is

Bloom is a private journal. You write about your day; the app turns what you wrote into a watercolour painting, a short reflection and a quote, and keeps them together as a page in your gallery. Paintings can optionally become a few seconds of gentle video. Your journal can live on your device only, or in the cloud — your choice, changeable at any time.

Bloom is a journaling and creative app. It is not a medical device, not therapy, and not a crisis service. Nothing it generates is advice of any kind. If you are in distress or in danger, please contact a qualified professional or your local emergency services.

Your account

  • You can use Bloom as a guest, which is a real journal with no email address attached. A guest journal lives on that device and in that session — if you sign out or lose the device before attaching an email address, we cannot recover it or prove it was yours. Attaching an email, Google or Apple sign-in keeps everything you have already written.
  • Keep your sign-in details to yourself. You are responsible for what happens under your account, and for keeping the email address on it reachable — it is how a password reset gets to you.
  • One account per person. Creating extra accounts to get more free paintings is not allowed (see Acceptable use).
  • Give us an email address that is really yours. We use it for password resets, address verification and, if you write to us, to answer.

The free plan, and what is always free

Two promises, in writing, because they are product rules we hold ourselves to rather than marketing:

Writing is never paywalled. Creating entries, saving them, reading them back, and exporting your entire journal as a ZIP file are free forever, on every plan, with no limit on how much you write. If we ever cannot afford to keep generating paintings, the words still work.

We do not take features away from people who already have them. If a feature is retired or moves behind a plan, accounts that already had it keep it.

What is metered is generation, because every painting and every video costs us money to produce. The free plan includes a set number of paintings and videos each month; the exact allowance is shown in the app, on your Profile and on the upgrade screen, and it resets monthly. If your allowance runs out, your entry is still saved in full — the page simply stays unpainted until the next month or an upgrade.

Paintings and videos generated on the free plan carry a small Bloom mark when you share them. Your own copies inside the app and in your ZIP export are unmarked.

Subscriptions and billing

  • Bloom Pro is an in-app subscription, sold and billed by the Apple App Store or Google Play. We do not take payments ourselves and we never see your card details.
  • Prices are identical on both platforms. Where we set a different price for a country, it is because of local pricing and tax, not because of which phone you carry. The price you will be charged is shown by the store before you confirm.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period until you cancel. Any free trial converts to a paid period unless you cancel before it ends; the length of the trial and what happens at the end of it are stated on the upgrade screen before you buy. We do not use countdowns, fake scarcity or trial traps.
  • Cancel in the store — on iOS in Settings → your name → Subscriptions, on Android in Google Play → Payments & subscriptions. Cancelling stops future renewals; you keep Pro until the end of the period you already paid for. Note that deleting your Bloom account does not cancel a subscription.
  • Refunds are the store’s to give. We cannot issue or reverse a charge made by Apple or Google; ask them. Statutory withdrawal or cancellation rights, where they apply to you, are exercised through the store that sold you the subscription. Nothing here limits rights you have under mandatory consumer law.
  • If your subscription lapses, you keep every entry, painting and video you already have, and you keep reading, exporting and writing. Only new generations return to the free allowance.
  • We may change prices or what a plan includes for future periods. If we do, you will be told before it applies to you, and the store will ask you to approve any price increase.

Your content stays yours

Your entries are yours. Your paintings are yours. We claim no ownership of anything you write or of the images made from it, and we do not use your journal to train AI models or sell it to anybody.

To operate the app we need a narrow, practical licence from you, and only for as long as you keep using it. You grant us permission to store, copy and transmit your content solely in order to provide Bloom to you: storing your entries if you chose cloud mode, sending the text of an entry to our AI providers so your painting can be rendered (exactly what is sent, and to whom), producing the painting, video, reflection, quote and share card, and building your archive when you export. That is the whole of it: no publishing, no marketing use, no showing your work to anyone else, no training. The licence ends when you delete the content or your account.

If you ever share your paintings with us for something else — a testimonial, a store screenshot — we will ask first, each time.

The app itself, its design, its wordmark and the painted illustration style remain ours.

About the AI-generated parts

Paintings, videos, titles, moods, reflections and quotes are produced by AI models. Some honest caveats:

  • Output is unpredictable. The same entry can produce different paintings. A painting may miss the point of what you wrote, get a detail wrong, or simply not be very good. That is the nature of the technology, not a defect we can promise away.
  • Generated text is not advice — not medical, psychological, legal or financial. It is a reflective flourish written by a language model.
  • A generation can fail. When one does, your words are still saved and the allowance we charged for it is returned. That is how the app is built to behave; if you ever lose an allowance to a failed generation, tell us and we will put it back.
  • Not exclusive, and possibly not ownable. Similar entries can yield similar images, and in some countries AI-generated images may not attract copyright at all — which limits what anyone, including us, can claim over them. We do not claim any rights in your paintings, and to the extent we hold any, they are yours.
  • Providers apply their own safety filters, which may refuse to render something. When that happens the app falls back to a second provider or saves your entry without a painting. It is never a judgement of you or of what you wrote.
  • Do not present a generated painting as a photograph, or as a human artist’s work.

Acceptable use

Bloom is a private journal, so this list is short. Please do not:

  • create multiple or automated accounts, or use the app in any other way designed to get more free generations than the plan gives — the free plan exists because people respect it;
  • try to break, overload, reverse-engineer or bypass the app’s limits, security rules or server functions, or access anyone else’s journal;
  • submit content that is illegal, or that depicts the sexual abuse or exploitation of children, or that infringes someone else’s rights, or use the app to generate imagery of a real person who has not agreed to it;
  • resell, redistribute or otherwise commercialise access to Bloom, or scrape or resell its generation capability;
  • upload photographs of other people to the character feature without their agreement.

We do not read your journal, so we cannot police what you write in it — and we have no wish to. This section exists so there is a clear answer when abuse of the paid pipeline or the free allowance becomes evident from the numbers, not from your words.

Changes to the app

Bloom is under active development. Features will be added, improved and occasionally retired, AI providers and models may be replaced with better ones, and the app may be unavailable while we deploy or when a provider we depend on is down. We do not promise uninterrupted service.

Two commitments alongside that: an account that already has a feature keeps it, and any change to how your entries are stored ships with a tested way back. Your entries are the one thing in this product we treat as non-negotiable.

Ending things

You can leave at any time. Delete your account in Settings → Delete my account, or by email if you can no longer open the app — see Delete your account. Export first if you want to keep your journal; deletion is permanent and we hold no copy afterwards. Remember to cancel an active subscription in the store, since deleting the account does not do that.

We can end access if you materially breach these terms — realistically, for abuse of the paid generation pipeline, systematic evasion of the free allowance, or illegal content. Where it is possible and lawful to do so we will warn you first, tell you what we found, and give you a chance to export your journal. For anything short of serious or repeated abuse we will restrict the feature being abused rather than delete a person’s journal.

If we ever discontinue Bloom entirely, we will give notice with enough time to export, and we will not bill for a period we cannot serve.

Disclaimers and liability

Bloom is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, we make no warranty that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that a generated painting will meet your expectations.

Back up what matters to you. If your journal lives on your device only, we hold no copy of it: a lost, wiped or broken phone means a lost journal, and there is nothing we can restore. The ZIP export exists for exactly this and is free on every plan. In cloud mode we take reasonable care, but no service is immune to loss.

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for lost content where you had the means to export it, or for anything a third-party store or AI provider does on its own account. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us for Bloom in the twelve months before the claim — or, if you never paid us anything, to the greater of that amount and €50.

None of this limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for your mandatory rights as a consumer.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of Romania, and the courts of Romania have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere in the European Union, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory consumer law of your own country, nor of the right to bring proceedings there.

If any part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest continues to apply.

Changes to these terms

We will update this page when the terms change and move the date at the top. For a change that materially affects you, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use Bloom after that means you accept the new terms; if you do not, delete your account — after exporting, if you would like to keep your journal.
